We’re a melodic pop punk band. We've been playing together for 3 years and have our own material exploring different genres and pushing the boundaries.
We have played many gigs around our local area and the North West and we have been tracking our first CD with Resound Media during the summer. We have two guitarists, one bass guitar, one drummer and one keyboards.
There is Jonny (lead guitar), Matt (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Mike (bass guitar), Robert (keyboards and syntheziser) and Steven (drums). We are all Christians.
"Inspirational... a band that could quite easily hold their own on any stage with any band..."
"There's a myriad of influences on the EP that ranges from All Time Low and Blink 182 through to the anthem bothering U2 and 30 Seconds To Mars. The likes of "fight for your life" bristles with pop/punk energy, whilst "Save my soul" wouldn't have looked out of place on 30 Seconds "This is War" album. When they played "Sacrifice" live, it was a spiritual tour-de-force with it's church backdrop and professional lights. The studio version might not have the effects but it still gets its message across. One of Chester City's finest bands in a long while."

NFN Albums of the Month November 2011
"...With an average age of just 17 years, this debut EP certainly sounds as if they have been around a lot longer. The title track is a storming song. It’s attack minded, and has a great hook for audiences to shout out to."
"...‘Sacrifice’ is a slower, more melodic song, and has quite an anthemic chorus, which I can also see going down well live. The band’s overall sound reminded me of The Steels, but I also thought that there was a bit of Red Hot Chilli Peppers influences thrown in as well."
"...the band look set to become ones to watch over the coming months."
NEVER FOR NOTHING
"It was a privilege to work with The Identity at our monthly worship event. They're a great bunch of guys who take their faith seriously - incorporating worshipful lyrics and melody into the songs they write. They generated a great vibe in the after hours slot at the event and our young people were well into them..."
Ste Murphy, Director at Warrington YFC
"......dynamic, soulful, and spiritual songs....The EP covers everything, from adoration to forgiveness. Especially liked the lyric on 'rescue', "I'm looking out at the world, have we fallen asleep at the wheel?". One of the best albums I've heard!"

"Great to see young people involved in a band such as The Identity......The songs, and the side stories to go with them, made the night wonderful. Especially when the dance competition ensued!"
